Find the system that’s right for your hair!

Which Nioxin System Should You Use?

Nioxin has several systems available for different hair types. The most common are Nioxin System 1 and 2.

However, people always ask if either Nioxin System 1 or 2 is the correct one for them. These two have many similarities and differences which I will discuss here.

In general, Nioxin is a hair loss prevention product used by men and women whom vary in age and hair types.

It is a highly recommended product as shown by customer reviews on this website.

For most beginners, it is difficult finding the right system due o the breath of products Nioxin has added to it’s core over the years.

Nioxin differentiates systems by the type of hair the person has ranging from fine natural, chemically-treated, and coarse hair.

Why is choosing a system important?

Nioxin has 6 systems in their lineup. However, the general idea is the same for all systems, which contains a shampoo, conditioner, and treatment.

Each system is different in its own right – the Nioxin systems difference is catering towards a specific type of hair.

You may be thinking how can I determine the type of hair I have. This is something your local salon or a friend/family member can help with. Have someone feel your hair to see if it is fine or coarse. This is the first step in choosing a proper system.

Nioxin 1 and 2 can be used by people with fine natural hair. So if you have this type of hair, then the only remaining decision is if Nioxin 1 or 2 is right for you.

Similarities between two Systems

Nioxin System 1 and 2 have many similarities. Both systems usually come with a 3-part system containing a shampoo, conditioner, and scalp treatment. Similarities also include:

  1. Both cater towards fine natural hair for both men and women
  2. Both use the 3-part system
  3. Both systems use the BioAmp and Activ-Renewal technology by Nioxin

Differences between Nioxin System 1 and 2

There are major differences between these systems which are important to understand. The differences are:

  • System 1 is for normal to thin-looking hair
  • System 2 is for noticeably thin hair
Nioxin system 1 benefits

These differences are not minor but you must determine which category you fall under. Again your best bet would be to ask a 3rd person – family/friends, barber, or even better, a professional salon. An example of these types of hair are shown on the right.

Nioxin system 2 benefits

Also, Nioxin System 2 does not include the Transactive Delivery technology. This technology delivers vitamins, botanicals, and anti-oxidants to your scalp leaving it refreshed and clean. The only reason System 2 might not have this technology is because the amount of hair has decreased on the scalp and thus is not required.

Nioxin System 1 or 2: Which one?

I laid out the similarities and differences for you above. The ingredients in both of these systems are the same. The only major differences include the type of hair you have and also the lack of the delivery technology in System 2.

Nioxin, however, does not warn its users from mixing and matching between these systems. If you would like to have the clean and refreshed scalp, then try Nioxin System 1.

If you see that you are not getting any results after 45 days, then it is best to resort to the actual system you should be using. Also understand that this is a long-term process and most likely these systems will replace your traditional shampoos and conditions.

Therefore, if you are currently in the normal to thin-looking hair, you should immediately begin using Nioxin System 1 starting today. This way you are preparing yourself if you do have hair loss in the future.

Hopefully, it is clear now if Nioxin System 1 or 2 is right for you.
